SACRED HEART JOURNEY
BUDAPEST TO KRAKOW PILGRIMAGE
SPIRITUAL GUIDE- BISHOP LUIS R. ZARAMA
OCT 4- 14, 2027
Discover the splendor of Budapest, then continue to Kraków to walk in the footsteps of St. John Paul II, pray at the Shrine of Divine Mercy with St. Faustina, and venerate the Black Madonna of Częstochowa.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Peace be with you. It is with great joy that I invite you to join me on a Catholic pilgrimage to Hungary and Poland, October 4–14, as we journey together through lands rich in faith, history, and witness. This pilgrimage will take us to Budapest and Kraków, along the beautiful Danube, and to sacred sites that have shaped the Church in Central Europe. Together we will celebrate Holy Mass daily, pray at the Divine Mercy Shrine in Łagiewniki, honor the legacy of St. John Paul II in his homeland, venerate the Black Madonna at Jasna Góra in Częstochowa, and reflect prayerfully at Auschwitz–Birkenau. We will also experience moments of joy and fellowship through cultural encounters, shared meals, and time for personal prayer and reflection.
Pilgrimage is more than travel. It is an opportunity to step away from daily life, to listen more deeply to God, and to walk in communion with fellow believers. My hope is that this journey will strengthen your faith, renew your spirit, and deepen your relationship with Christ and His Church.
I would be honored to travel with you on this sacred journey. Please consider joining us, and I look forward to sharing this meaningful experience with you. May God bless you and keep you always.
Sincerely in Christ,
Most Reverend Luis R. Zarama
Bishop of Raleigh
